Netflix’s hit romantic series has officially cast Mitchell Slaggert in a major recurring role for Season 8, which recently entered production in Vancouver. The actor, known for Landman and The Sex Lives of College Girls, will play Eddie, a charming EMT who quickly becomes part of the Virgin River community.

According to the official character description, Eddie is a laidback and curious newcomer who never expected to settle in a small town. But once he arrives in Virgin River, he begins discovering connections — and complications — that could change his life.

Given his profession, Eddie is expected to cross paths with Mel, Doc, Kaia, and Brady following the dramatic motorcycle crash in the Season 7 finale.

And because this is Virgin River, romance is almost certainly on the horizon.

Production on Season 8 recently kicked off, with star Alexandra Breckenridge celebrating the milestone by posting a behind-the-scenes selfie with co-star Martin Henderson.

If the show follows its usual schedule, fans can likely expect Season 8 to premiere sometime in 2027.
