Virgin River fans, brace yourselves—Season 8 will look a little different.

Two longtime characters are stepping away: Marco Grazzini’s Mike and Lauren Hammersley’s Charmaine. Mike’s exit comes after a multi-season arc that recently saw him find a new romantic connection, while Charmaine’s departure closes the book on one of the show’s most drama-filled storylines.

The good news? The rest of the main cast is expected to return, including Mel, Jack, and the rest of the Virgin River community. Even characters like Muriel and Everett will continue to play important recurring roles.

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith has hinted that while no major cast shakeups are planned, the series will naturally evolve as certain storylines reach their conclusion.

Translation: expect fresh faces—but don’t worry, the heart of the show isn’t going anywhere.
