FROM VILLAIN TO HERO? JAMES CARTWRIGHT’S STUNNING NEW PROJECT REVEALED AFTER THEO’S BRUTAL END
With Theo now firmly written out, viewers are naturally wondering where they’ll spot James next-– and it turns out he’s been quietly working on something very different behind the scenes.

Theo and Todd’s harrowing abuse storyline in Coronation Street
Theo made quite the entrance when he arrived on the Street last year, quickly striking up a relationship with Todd Grimshaw. But what started as a romance soon took a troubling turn.
Struggling to come to terms with his sexuality after leaving his wife and children, Theo’s behaviour towards Todd became increasingly disturbing. Away from prying eyes, he began making cruel comments about Todd’s eating habits and pushed him into intense exercise routines.
As time went on, things escalated further, with Theo’s actions becoming both emotionally and physically abusive. It was a deeply difficult situation for Todd, who found himself unable to break free and instead became trapped, even going as far as marrying Theo.
Eventually, Todd found the strength to stand up to him, bringing police involvement into the mix. After a tense chase and dramatic showdown, the truth was finally revealed – Theo was the murder victim at the centre of ‘murder week.’ A brutal end, and one that marks the close of a powerful storyline.

James Cartwright lands a very different role away from Coronation Street
While his time on the cobbles may be over, James hasn’t been slowing down. In fact, he’s already been filming a brand-new project that couldn’t be more different from his Corrie role.
He’s set to appear as Benny in Bjorn of the Dead – a horror-comedy with a brilliantly bonkers premise. The story follows an ABBA tribute band who find themselves trapped inside a nightclub just as an apocalypse begins to unfold. Expect chaos, laughs and plenty of unexpected twists.
In a lovely twist, James won’t be the only Cartwright involved either. His dad, Jim, is also part of the cast, taking on the role of an Elder Tribute.
There’s no confirmed release date just yet, but it’s safe to say fans will be keeping a close eye out. After such a memorable stint on Coronation Street, it looks like James Cartwright is far from disappearing off our screens.
