Amid Mental-Health Concerns, General Hospital’s Kirsten Storms Has Police Investigating Claims Her Phone’s Been Hacked
Brandon Barash has been granted an emergency restraining order against former wife Kirsten Storms, TMZ reports. The reason: grave concerns about her mental state, according to court documents. At the same time, an investigation has been launched into her concerns that her phone has been hacked.
In the Beginning
Barash and Storms met while they were both starring on General Hospital, him as Johnny Zacchara, her as Maxie Jones. They tied the knot in 2013, welcomed daughter Harper into the world a year later, and divorced in 2015. Years later, Barash, who is expecting his second child with wife Isabella, moved to Tennessee; Storms followed, taking a break from General Hospital to do so — hence, Maxie’s coma.

Since Then
Barash alleges that housing instability has been a recurring theme for Storms. For nearly a year, the website reports, she didn’t maintain a permanent address but stayed with friends or at hotels, often changing hotels because she believed that she and Harper were being followed.
Barash also claims that Storms’ car is about to be repossessed, he loaned her $5k, and in 2025, she told him she was “experiencing delusions and hallucinations” and “didn’t think she should have the child for her parenting time.” Isabella is said to have helped get Storms to the hospital, where she was placed on a psychiatric hold. But upon her release, she behaved as if nothing had happened.
What’s Going On?
During a 2022 appearance on State of Mind, Storms shared that she had been diagnosed with Bipolar I. Her Instagram followers know that she’s recently claimed her new apartment was broken into and that she’s been hacked. Barash says that in November of 2025, Storms told him people were trying to “mess with her” by breaking into her apartment and moving things into her car.

A friend of Storms’, Barash says, informed him she fears the actress is abusing Adderall and other substances. The friend says Storms has had “repeated episodes of melting down, being triggered, hearing things/voices that weren’t there.”
Barash has requested that the court order Storms to undergo a mental-health evaluation.
At the Same Time…
The Franklin, TN, Police Department has confirmed to TMZ that it is investigating Storms’ claim that her phone has been hacked, thereby allowing her to be spied on. In early April, she said in an Instagram video that her cell had been compromised.
Our hearts go out to the actors and their families at this difficult time. We can only hope the situation will be resolved quickly, amicably and, most of all, healthfully.
