Virgin River is welcoming a fresh face to town.

Actor Mitchell Slaggert has officially joined Season 8 of Netflix’s hit romantic drama, stepping into the role of Eddie, a charismatic EMT described as both charming and emotionally intuitive. According to early character details, Eddie may end up “fixing your soul along with your body.”

Slaggert, best known for The Sex Lives of College Girls and the horror film Wish Upon, brings a new layer of energy to the ever-expanding Virgin River universe. The actor’s breakout television performances and growing fanbase have made him one of Hollywood’s rising young stars.

Production on Season 8 is already underway in Vancouver, with filming expected to continue through August 2026. Netflix has confirmed another 10-episode season, with an anticipated release in early 2027.

The casting arrives during a period of transition for the beloved drama, following reports that Lauren Hammersley and Marco Grazzini will not return next season. Still, fan favorites Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson remain firmly at the center of the series.
