There’s a new charmer heading to Virgin River.

Mitchell Slaggert has joined the cast of Netflix’s hit series for Season 8, where he’ll play Eddie, a compassionate EMT with an easygoing personality and a mysterious emotional side.

Fans may already recognize Slaggert from The Sex Lives of College Girls, where his breakout performance helped turn him into a rising fan favorite. Now, the actor is bringing his laidback appeal to one of Netflix’s most beloved romantic dramas.

According to character descriptions, Eddie is more than just a medical professional — he’s someone capable of helping people emotionally as well as physically, hinting at potentially meaningful new relationships in town.

Season 8 is currently filming in Vancouver and is expected to debut in early 2027.

The upcoming season will also mark a shift for the series following the exits of longtime characters Charmaine and Mike, opening the door for fresh storylines and new faces.
