Very Shocking Update: Two major Coronation Street villains drop hints they’ve left the soap

Coronation Street fans are currently clamouring to work out just who is set to be killed off after the intriguing flashforward episode last month,

and two of the potential victims may have accidentally confirmed that they have already left the show. The special episode sparked a lot of questions

when it revealed that Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) is set to find a body this April, on the day of Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain’s (Vicky Myers) wedding.

Though we won’t know exactly who is set to meet their maker until that fateful day arrives, the potential victims have been narrowed down to five cobbles residents: Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), Theo Silverton (James Cartwright) and Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon).

However, could a slip of the tongue from two of the stars have actually narrowed it down to just a pair of potential dead bodies?

To say that Carl is a bad man is absolutely an understatement. Away from the affair he had with Kevin Webster’s (Michael Le Vell) partner Abi (Sally Carman), Carl has been seen taking advantage of Debbie, who has dementia.

After stealing money from her, Carl framed Debbie for the crash that impacted the way Corriedale played out. Prior to it happening, a drunk Carl was driving down the road with Debbie in the passenger side. The collision happened, and Carl moved Debbie behind the wheel while she was still unconscious.

There’s barely a single neighbour Carl Webster hasn’t crossed

Despite being innocent, Debbie took the rap for Carl’s crime, and the reason for protecting him was later revealed when viewers learnt that Carl is actually Debbie’s son, not her brother.

Carl has continued to rub countless characters the wrong way, which makes him prime pickings to be killed off this Spring.

As speculation continues, star Jonathan Howard recently fuelled the theory he may say goodbye to the cobbles soon. During a chat with soaps guru Sharon Marshall during an episode of This Morning, Jonathan spoke about how much he’s enjoyed his time at Coronation Street.

With black eye makeup on his face, Jonathan confirmed that Carl will get into even more trouble soon, and then said: ‘I’ve had a really good time here. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it. We’ll see what happens in the future’.

Of course, speaking in past tense as though he’s not sticking around for much longer could’ve been deliberate to get fans believing Carl will end up dead in a few months time. Was it a red herring, or did Jonathan slip up?

Across the cobbles, Jodie Ramsey has also got a lot of people’s backs up with her scheming ways.

The character was introduced to us at the start of this year as Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) sister. As well as wanting to get revenge on her sibling for leaving the family home years ago, Jodie also seems to take great pleasure in causing misery for others.

Star Olivia Frances-Brown shared a picture of herself as Jodie on her Instagram this week. In the caption, she said something that also left us suspicious.

‘Came to the cobbles looking for closure and maybe a bit of chaos. How are we all liking Jodie? Would you trust her? Thank you for all the kind messages. I’ve loved every second of bringing her to life’, she wrote.

Has Olivia confirmed she’s left her role as Jodie already by saying that she’s ‘loved every second of bringing her to life’?

Or was it just a clever way of encouraging more speculation among the fans?
