Very Shocking Update: Todd absolutely loses it in Coronation Street after horrendous acts from Theo

Terrified Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) has been pushed to breaking point in Coronation Street by his toxic fiancée Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) vile abuse.

It was only a matter of time before Todd finally snapped and took it all out on somebody else… For months, Todd has found himself on the receiving end of

coercive control, emotional manipulation, gaslighting, and horrifying bouts of domestic violence at Theo’s hands.

It’s been so bad that several of Todd’s friends and neighbours have started to suspect something might be amiss, and the police have even got involved. But so far, Theo’s always managed to win everyone over with the perfect boyfriend routine.

Everything got worse with the death of Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank). Losing his best friend and former lover in the Corriedale crash had a devastating impact on Todd, especially seeing as Billy was the only person he’d confided in about Theo’s abuse.

Little does Todd know that a jealous Theo left Billy to die in the fiery wreckage of the minibus. Since Billy’s death, Theo’s seen Todd become more distant, which only makes the abuser more desperate than ever to keep him close.

This has already taken its toll on Todd. He was furious when Theo insisted on giving the eulogy at Billy’s funeral instead of him, making the day all about himself and using it as an opportunity to make Todd feel responsible his friends’ death.

Now, Theo’s found a new way to hurt and control his long-suffering partner – with money.

After discovering some overdue bills in the post, the cruel bully used it as an opportunity to guilt-trip Todd by accusing him of being irresponsible with money.

Theo forced him to cut up his credit cards and agree to a joint bank account, before leaving him with a pittance to live on. Now Theo’s hands are firmly on the purse strings, fellow Weatherfield residents like Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) and George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) are starting to notice that Todd is strapped for cash.

It’s just another kind of abuse, and upcoming episodes of Coronation Street will see Todd finally snap under pressure… and unload his anger on one unfortunate Cobbles dweller.

When he joins James Bailey (Jason Callender) for brunch, a skint Todd is mortified to have become a charity case when James pays instead. Later, Theo makes a jibe at Todd for wasting money, tosses him a tenner, ordering telling him to buy something for tea and make sure to keep the receipt… but while Todd’s gone, Theo throws the photo of Billy in the bin.

When Todd returns home. Theo confronts him with a takeaway bag he found in the outside bin, pointing out the calorific content of a curry and orders Todd on a run.

James watches with concern as Todd limps down the street. Back in the flat, Todd notices Billy’s photo missing. Will Theo own up?

That would be telling! However, the evening ends with Todd in visible pain, rubbing his neck.

The next day, Theo chuckles wryly to see Todd with a love bite. Todd’s day only gets worse when an angry woman called Annie threatens to sue George over a manipulated will.

Then later, at the shop, a broken Todd finally reaches breaking point when Jake Windass (Bobby Bradshaw) teases him over the love bite, suggesting his presence.

This is the straw that broke the camel’s back for Todd, who takes his anger out at the wrong person by snapping at the poor kid so harshly that Gary Windass (Mikey North) has to intervene. Todd’s left mortified.

Just when the poor man’s at his lowest, he returns home to Theo, who’s just had a call from Gary.

It looks like Todd’s bad day is about to get a lot worse.
