Very Shocking Update: Major Emmerdale legend returns in early ITVX release as police investigate
The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated February 17. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) went from one police-based nightmare to another in Emmerdale today, as she finally returned home. The beloved character has been away
for a little while helping Tina Dingle, who (once again) was in trouble with the law. In reality, this happened to facilitate Lisa’s trip to Australia, so she could take part in I’m A Celebrity.
Mandy Dingle was thrown right back into the drama
While Mandy has been away, she’s been video calling Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt), but he hasn’t told her about the ordeal Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) has been through since he escaped from the farm.
After Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) murder, Paddy believed that the only two people who needed to know about Bear’s reality were him and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle). It’s been pretty difficult for him to keep this from Mandy, but it was done with Bear’s wellbeing in mind.
Yesterday, Paddy opened up to Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) about keeping the secret while Bear was questioned at the station by DS Walsh. There, Bear remained adamant that he was the only person involved in Ray’s murder, but she struggled to believe that he disposed of the body all on his own.
Because Bear was refusing to reveal the complete truth, Walsh sent a team to Tenants to try and find evidence that either backed up his claim, or proved that other people were involved in Ray’s murder.
Just as forensics got to work searching Paddy’s home, he wandered down Main Street with Marlon after their chat. He was horrified to see the police turning the place upside down, and had no choice but to stay the night at his mate’s.
The next morning, the police were packing up. DC Chen then told Paddy he needed to go to the station, as Bear was asking for him to act as his appropriate adult.
It was at this moment a taxi pulled up, and inside was Mandy. She leapt out and was shocked at the police presence outside her home. Paddy didn’t have time to explain what was going on as he was being forced into a police car, so Dylan had to do it instead.
The anger in Mandy Dingle comes out when someone she loves has been hurt, and the fact Dylan, Paddy, Bear, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan), Marlon and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) have all been impacted by Ray and Celia’s (Jaye Griffiths) horror in one way or another made her a very angry woman indeed.
While Mandy was catching up on everything, Paddy was in the police interview room with his dad, who was once again being questioned by DS Walsh.
Bear had asked Paddy to be his appropriate adult because he believed his son could steer him in the right direction whenever he found himself getting overwhelmed. Bear ultimately thought that Paddy could help him keep the truth a secret, but didn’t realise Walsh would grow even more suspicious whenever Paddy tried to speak for his dad.
The instalment ended with Paddy and Dylan getting told that they needed to go to the station tomorrow for further investigating. Mandy is trying to be hopeful, but Paddy thinks Walsh has the trio nailed.
Are Paddy, Dylan and Bear about to all go to prison?
