While she failed in that attempt to rid herself and her son of Eva, she’s continued to torment her, delighting in making her life difficult at every possible opportunity.

It takes a brave woman to pursue a Driscoll boy, knowing it’ll likely earn the wrath of grandma dearest. Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fitton) pretty hard though, isn’t she?

It’s been a quiet period for our Lauren of late. After crash landing onto the cobbles as the daughter of a far-right extremist group leader, she later got involved with evil solicitor Joel Deering (Calum Lill) and became pregnant with his child before bashing his head in.

Yeah, admittedly, the girl deserved a break, didn’t she?

After catching the eye of Ollie Driscoll (Raphael Akuwudike), who’d not long been dumped by Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), the two struck up a new romance over a couple of dates. There’s been some hiccups of course, but isn’t there always?

As sparks continue to fly between Lauren and Ollie, they’re both hopeful that said sparks could turn into a fully fledged, romantic flame. Not if Maggie has anything to say about it, though.

With Lauren working at the Rover’s as a barmaid, Maggie thinks she’s got the measure of her, and in her opinion, she’s simply not good enough for her grandson, and she’s unprepared to let it lie.

She’s not too ashamed to admit it either, as she freely admits to both Ben and Eva that she’s actively working against them, altering the rota to scupper their planned date and keep them apart.

She’s not backwards in coming forward, either. When speaking with Ollie, she lets forth with the vitriol and makes her feelings perfectly clear: he could do much, much better for himself than Lauren and she’s in no way, shape or form good enough for him.
