OMG Shocking!! Jodie’s unexpected new victim ‘confirmed’ in Coronation Street ahead of murder
Coronation Street spoilers follow for Friday’s (April 3) episode. The episode in question can now be streamed on ITVX and YouTube. With Coronation Street’s killer whodunnit looming,
devious schemer Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) has never looked more suspicious as she prepares to lure another fly into her web… Jodie’s a busy girl. Since arriving
on the Cobbles earlier this year, she’s embarked on a twisted one woman mission to tear her sister Shona Platt’s (Julia Goulding) family apart, in revenge for ‘abandoning’ her to their abusive father as a child.
This involves making her look like a bad mother and wife in the eyes of her husband David Platt (Jack P Shepherd), while taking every opportunity to get closer to him herself. Yep. It’s your typical cuckoo-in-the-nest set up with an extra dollop of crazy.
Not content with targeting her own sister, vengeance is Jodie’s whole vibe. This bunny-boiler has an evil scheme for anyone who looks at her cross-eyed. Fans have been intrigued by her mystery box of trinkets, filled with keepsakes stolen from others – including Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) wedding photo.
More recently, she’s even branched out into babysitting, taking a strange interest in Carla Connor’s (Alison King) little niece Connie ever since the tot was dropped on her aunt’s doorstep.
With a schedule that jam-packed, you would think our Jodie doesn’t have much time for romance. The only fella she’s flirted with so far is cheat, liar and reckless driver Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard), who’s letting his dementia-suffering mother rot in prison for the car-crash he caused. Come on, Jodie. Set the bar a little higher.
Enter Daniel Osborne (Rob Mallard).
He’s not got the best track record with women. This tortured intellectual has a habit of playing the knight in shining armour and seeks out damsels in distress to rescue…. but struggles to commit once the dragon is slain.
His wife Sinead Tinker tragically died of cancer, Daisy Midgeley cheated on him with Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott), and his engagement to Bethany Platt fell apart due to his lingering connection to Daisy.
But that’s nothing compared to the most recent heartbreak. Daniel is currently reeling from the revelation that his girlfriend Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) is a sexual predator who has been grooming underage student Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale).
She was merely using the Headmaster of Weatherfield High as a veneer of respectability, so nobody would expect her illicit activities. As Daniel put it himself in last night’s episode as he bemoaned his situation to Ken Barlow (William Roache), ‘I was her beard.’
Ouch.
Understandably, after the week he’s had, the man needs a drink. But tonight’s episode of Coronation Street sees Daniel have one too many, and end up having a surprise confrontation with Jodie where sparks fly…
Bethany and Jodie are having a quiet drink in the Bistro when Daniel gatecrashes and throws a drunken pity-party about his lack of luck in love. ‘Ever since Sinead, every woman that I’ve got close to has turned into some crazy nutjob.’
When Bethany objects to that assessment, Daniel snidely reminds her that she flew half-way round the world to get cosmetic surgery. Seeing Bethany hurt, Jodie jumps in to give Daniel a piece of her mind. ‘Hey. I don’t know you, but we’re just trying to have a quiet drink here. And if your idea of being rude and downright cruel to my mate, you can do one’.
Feeling embarrassed, Daniel backs down.
Will Jodie be the murderer in the Corrie Whodunnit.
-
Yes, obviously – she’s got killer written all over her
-
No – it will be someone else
Alone, Jodie can’t believe Bethany went out with a bloke like that. Bethany defends Daniel, insisting that he’s not that bad and everyone has their baggage. ‘Yeah, I suppose’ Jodie agrees, while hinting she wouldn’t exactly kick Daniel out of bed. ‘In your defence, he is a decent looking fella’ she admits, while giving Daniel the once over from afar.
Ooh la la.
It seems like Daniel feels the same way. While confiding in Adam Barlow, he starts to wonder if he should go after Jodie instead ‘This is my problem’ he despairs. ‘ I always pick women with issues. Why can’t I find someone like that, eh? Someone who’s just normal.’
Oh, if only he knew.
Actor Rob Mallard recently teased that his character will soon be embarking on a new relationship with someone ‘chaotic’.
Surely that can only be Jodie? And with Coronation Street’s murder mystery round the corner, will Daniel be a victim… and will Jodie be the killer?
