OMG Shocking!! Coronation Street’s Jodie has secretly preyed on another show legend – did you spot it?
It seems that no one on Coronation Street is safe from the meddling of mysterious newcomer Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), who has taken to keeping
a box of trophies hidden in the Platt house. Her newest addition to her collection came in last night’s episode, when it was revealed that she had been the one
to break into Bernie Winter’s (Jane Hazlegrove) house and cut her face out of her wedding pictures.
No one is safe from Jodie Ramsey
This left Bernie completely on edge, having already suffered a terrifying hostage situation at the hands of obsessed stalker Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) earlier that same day.
With Bernie’s suspicions firmly on Mal, it seems Jodie is in the clear – and she is clearly well-practised, judging by her collection of trinkets.
Among the objects, eagle-eyed viewers may have spotted the evidence of another crime that has left a second Corrie legend shaken.
Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) has been completely beside himself ever since he discovered that his beloved copy of The Woman in White had been stolen.
He caused quite a stir when he accused Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) of the theft, and she adamantly stood by her innocence.
We can’t deny that it was a fair assumption to make, given that Hope had overheard Brian and Rita Tanner (Barbara Knox) talking about her troubled past and serial killer dad on the day of the theft.
Add to that her history of arson and general enjoyment of other people’s suffering, and it’s easy to see why she was Brian’s first port of call. Even sister Ruby Dobbs (Billie Naylor) thought she’d done it!
However, the real culprit was revealed to be Jodie – another character who seems to get a thrill from causing misery.
Jodie’s niece Lily Platt (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) recently took on the role of paper girl at the Kabin, but royally screwed up the opportunity when she dumped the stack of newspapers in a bin at the precinct.
Though Jodie attempted to get her to apologise to Brian and Rita, out of their earshot, she was trash-talking them to Lily and Hope – a clear sign that she had them in her sights.
Did you spot it?
It seems that nothing gets past eagle-eyed Metro viewers, who took to Facebook after yesterday’s episode to share their discovery.
‘Was that Brian’s book in her box too?’ Sue questioned, to which LeeAnn replied: ‘Yes! The Woman in White. Well spotted super sleuth!’
When Cheryl asked, ‘Was that Brian’s book in the tin?’, Bev responded, ‘Yes, The Woman in White. Well spotted. I’ve just noticed it in the picture.’
It would appear that everyone Jodie meets is in danger of falling victim to her meddling, but just how far is she prepared to take things, and who will be next on her list?
A sinister sign
Metro readers fear that things could be set to accelerate, comparing Jodie’s box of hidden treasures to the box of trophies Emmerdale serial killer Meena Jutla kept.
Meena terrorised the village over the span of two years, killing Leanna Cavanagh, Andrea Tate and Ben Tucker, as well as attempting to murder Victoria Sugden and kidnapping Manpreet Sharma and Billy and Dawn Fletcher.
With Meena having also taken trinkets from her victims, Corrie fans are wondering if Jodie is set to go the same way.
‘This is a similar storyline that Emmerdale did with Meena & her box of trophies,’ Samantha pointed out, while Rodders added: ‘Like blumin meena with her keepsakes on emmerdale!’
‘Reminds me so much of Meena from Emmerdale,’ Mark said, while Sam thought that Jodie ‘gives Meena vibes’.
Could Jodie be Coronation Street’s next serial killer? We know there’s a death coming up, with Jodie as one of five potential victims, but could she actually be on the other side of the murder weapon?
A simple chore could change everything
In some hilarious comments, Metro readers also realised just how easy it would be for one of the Platts to discover Jodie’s box of secrets – if they’d only hoover under the sofa.
‘They must never run the hoover under the couch,’ Margaret pointed out, while Diane echoed: ‘Does no one ever hoover under the platts sofa ?’
‘That box has been in more places than duster,’ Karren joked.
David and Shona Platt (Jack P Shepherd and Julia Goulding) have a lot going on with new baby Harper, so we forgive them for not making the housekeeping a priority, and Lily has proved that she’s not willing to go too far out of her way to help out.
And, let’s be real, when was the last time any of us ran the hoover under the sofa?
So, could Jodie be set to escalate to murder, or will an impromptu spring clean send her house of cards tumbling down?
And, perhaps most importantly, will poor Brian ever get his book back?
