General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that we have to ask: Is this the end of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud)?

Is this couple doomed to crash and burn? Steve Burton has confirmed his hiatus from the show, so we have to consider what this means for Jason and Britt’s future.

Even if Steve Burton comes back in the summer like he says he will, Britt and Jason are going to lose any momentum they’ve gained as a romantic duo.

It’s possible Jason and Britt could reignite things once more down the line, but we also have to mull over the possibility that this forced split will stick.

Britt recently had a bit of an epiphany thanks to Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), who helped her see how precious time was.

That’s why Britt made an effort to see Jason on Valentine’s Day, which was still in progress on the ABC soap in the February 16 episode.

Britt told Jason that time could be stolen from them at any moment, so she didn’t think they should waste a second they had together.

That led to passion erupting, but it also seemed like it was foreshadowing Jason’s kidnapping, presumed demise or both!

Britt may blame herself if Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) retaliates against Jason over this or any other encounters they might try to sneak in.

Things clearly won’t go well for Jason since he’s speeding toward the exit door.

Regardless, there’s no guarantee that Jason and Britt will still be the plan by the time summer rolls around.

GH writers could send the characters down separate romantic paths if they decide this reunion doesn’t have as much fan support as they might’ve hoped.
