Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that fans have to wonder if the show is failing. Do all the cast cuts, flop pairings and lackluster stories spell trouble?

Now that the news has leaked about Raven Bowens (Chanel Dupree DiMera), Carson Boatman (Johnny DiMera), Ashley Puzemis (Holly Jonas) and Leo Howard (Tate Black) being fired,

many viewers are wondering what exactly is going on behind the scenes. Sometimes major cast changes are necessary to make room for returning actors or just for the sake of the budget,

but it’s disappointing that they’re cutting so much young blood. This isn’t the only problem, so let’s address some of the show’s other hurdles for a moment.

In a recent interview with TV Insider, DOOL Co-Head Writers Paula Cwikly and Jeanne Marie Ford addressed one big issue that’s resulted from filming so far in advance.

The show’s shooting 10 months ahead at this point, so that presents a challenge.

“While we get feedback from the producers on what is currently taping, we don’t have the ability to change course in the middle of a story based on fan reaction,” Ford and Cwikly said.

That may be partly why Days delivers lackluster storylines like this shady hospital lab investigation that’s been going on forever.

Even if it’s building somewhere, it’s taking way too long to get there and is boring fans in the process.

Cwikly and Ford also acknowledged that by filming so many months in advance, they don’t have the ability to know which couples are working and which ones aren’t.

“Romantic chemistry is the most difficult area for us to gauge because we don’t see the couples we’re writing for many months,” Ford and Cwikly said.

As a result, Days keeps pushing dull pairings when there’s not much chem happening on-screen.

Since romance is such a huge part of soaps, it’s easy to see why this has been a hindrance.

Days got a two-year pickup from Peacock in 2025 and will continue through at least Season 63, but that doesn’t mean everything is going well.

Some fans are still worried about the future of the show since there are obviously some behind-the-scenes issues.
