Former Coronation Street favourite Kate Spencer has shared some heartwarming news: she’s officially a mum! The actress has welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Zach, with her husband,

professional boxer Paul Walker, and it’s safe to say the couple are completely in love with their new arrival. Kate took to Instagram to announce the happy news,

sharing a sweet first photo of baby Zach with her followers. Alongside the picture, she wrote: ‘Baby Zach burst into the world last week and safe to say, we are utterly besotted.

Life will never be the same again, and for that, we are eternally grateful.’

It’s a special moment for the actress, who many viewers will recognise from her time playing the bold and often villainous Grace Vickers on Coronation Street. Kate appeared on the ITV soap between 2019 and 2022 and quickly made an impression with her memorable storylines as a Corrie baddie.

During her time on the show, she was also part of an important moment in the soap’s history, appearing as a member of the first Black family introduced to the series. It was a milestone for the long-running soap and one that added extra significance to her role, helping to bring more diverse stories and voices to the screen.

Since leaving Weatherfield, Kate has continued to build her career while also sharing more of her personal life with fans. Away from the drama of the cobbles, she’s known for her grounded and positive outlook, often posting glimpses of her day-to-day life, fitness routines, and time spent with loved ones.

The actress first revealed she was expecting back in October, later updating fans with her excitement as her pregnancy progressed. In one post, she shared: ’19 weeks of loving you, forever to go! Hugely grateful, blessed and unbelievably excited to be welcoming the next generation of the Walkers into our family in March 2026.’

Her journey into motherhood has clearly been one filled with gratitude and excitement, something that has really resonated with her followers.

Kate’s relationship with Paul has also been a big part of her story in recent years. The couple married in 2022, but their engagement was just as memorable. Paul proposed during what Kate described as her ‘perfect day’, a simple but meaningful mix of all her favourite things.

Looking back, she shared: ‘3 years ago he asked me what my perfect day consisted of. I said: “Get up early, train in the morning, some time to chill by myself, good food, good coffee, and do something theatre/acting related.” Yesterday, we went to the gym, had great coffee, learnt some lines for Corrie, went on a little walk, went to a pub, played backgammon, made tiramisu and ate steak. It was perfect. And then this happened.’

She also opened up about how emotional the moment was, adding: ‘After the Tomahawk steak, before the Tiramisu, and with a coffee in hand, he turned me into an absolute blubbering mess. A million times over, completely and utterly yes.’

Now, with baby Zach here, the couple are stepping into an exciting new chapter together. From red carpet appearances and dramatic storylines to late nights and newborn cuddles, life will look very different, but in the best possible way.

And judging by Kate’s words, she wouldn’t have it any other way.
