Newest Update!! Coronation Street spoilers: Roy’s horrifying fate as he’s trapped in deadly fire
Roy Cropper’s (David Neilson) fate is left hanging in the balance in Coronation Street next week when a deadly blaze is set at his beloved cafe, with the much-owner left unconscious in the aftermath.
The long-serving owner of Roy’s Rolls is feeling under the weather in upcoming scenes and thus returns home early from a bat-watching expedition.
His mood is further dampened when he discovers that there are electrical issues at the cafe and, unable to open up, he informs Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) that she can have the day off and go home.
Once alone, poorly Roy decides that some much-needed rest is what the doctor ordered and thus heads upstairs to go to sleep.
But things sadly take a dark turn.
Later, Bernie Winter-Alahan (Jane Hazlegrove) and Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) are out for a stroll on Victoria Street when they spot smoke emerging from Roy’s flat.
Carla Connor (Alison King) spots the commotion and heads over, with Bernie and Dev notifying her of their discovery. They all reckon that Roy is still on his bat-watching expedition, unaware that he returned home unwell.
In the flat, Roy lies unconscious with a blanket of fire around him. Will he be found in time? Or is it goodbye Roy?
And the other big question is: just who set the fire at the premises?
The blaze comes in the wake of Roy revealing that dangerous Mal Roper (Tim Treloar) was heading back to Inverness.
However, despite such claims, next week will also see Mal accuse Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) of assault, with Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) notifying her colleague of the situation.
If Mal is still hanging around, could he be responsible for the blaze? Or could the culprit be equally manipulative Jodie, who has targeted a number of Street residents amid her bid to win David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) affection.
Either way, let’s hope poor Roy is rescued before it’s too late.
