Virgin River fans are about to meet a brand-new resident.

Actor Mitchell Slaggert has been cast in Season 8 of the Netflix drama as Eddie, a charismatic EMT who quickly becomes part of the town’s emotional landscape. Described as a “laidback charmer,” Eddie appears poised to shake up relationships and storylines throughout the upcoming season.

Slaggert is best known for his role in The Sex Lives of College Girls and has steadily emerged as one of television’s promising young actors.

Production for Season 8 officially kicked off in Vancouver earlier this spring, with filming scheduled through August. Netflix has confirmed another 10 episodes for the fan-favorite series.

The casting addition comes during a season of change for Virgin River, with several supporting cast members exiting while the core ensemble remains intact.
