Hot Shocking Update!! Police swarm Coronation Street as apocalyptic killer Maggie takes revenge on Megan.
Out of all the residents of Coronation Street, the last person anyone would want to make an enemy of is Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), as child predator Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon) is about to learn…
Never get on the bad side of a Rover’s Return landlady. With a hall of fame including the greats like Annie Walker (Doris Speed), Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear), Vera Duckworth (Elizabeth Dawn)
and Liz McDonald (Beverly Callard), these fierce queens of the bar pulled their pints with an extra drop of sass and dealt swiftly with troublemakers. But as fearsome as they could be,
they generally drew the line at killing folk… unlike Maggie. The acid tongued Irish matriarch of Clan Driscoll has got quite a temper. Enough to push her husband down the stairs to his death for bringing up her affair – with none other than Corrie legend and Steve McDonald’s (Simon Gregson) father Jim McDonald (Charles Lawson), I should add. Maggie has kept this murderous secret from her son Ben Driscoll (Aaron McCusker) for years, determined to protect her family no matter what it takes.
Maggie stands up to abuser Megan
Be afraid, Megan. Be very, very afraid
The twisted athletics coach has spent months grooming Maggie’s grandson Will Driscoll (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) into an illicit underage relationship right under her nose. Now thanks to the dogged investigations of schoolboy Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) the cat’s out of the bag. Devastated, the Driscolls demand justice.
But Megan has been crying crocodile tears to the police, claiming to be a victim of a schoolboy crush blown out of all proportion. Under the spell of his abuser, Will believes himself to be in a loving relationship and has stuck to her story.
To the Driscolls’ dismay, the monster who abused their boy left no shred of evidence. Ben has banded together with his partner Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley), Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) and Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) in a mission to prove Megan’s abuse and put her behind bars. The closest they’ve come to proof is the baby Megan is currently pregnant with, but she won’t submit to DNA testing to prove that it’s Will’s.
Naturally, Maggie’s showing frustration at the slow process of gathering evidence. She was the sole witness to Will’s attack on Megan’s boyfriend Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard). Maggie only agreed to keep Will’s secret because she thought it was merely a case of a trouble teen’s anger boiling over at his headmaster, not the actions of a jealous lover.
Now she knows the truth, Maggie’s desperate to show the world Megan’s true colours. When Will refused to accept his ‘girlfriend’s’ guilt, she angrily branded Megan a witch and implored her grandson to be honest… which went about as well as you could expect. You would think Maggie would learn her lesson and try a softer approach.
Think again.
Upcoming episodes of Coronation Street will see Maggie decide to deal with Megan in her own way – with cataclysmic consequences for her family.
What will Maggie do to Megan?
-
Trash her flat
-
Attack her
-
Kill her
- Something even worse…
In the Rovers’, Ben and Eva agree that all they can do is hope that Will steers clear of Megan… unaware that he is already visiting her at her new flat.
Maggie however, decides that enough is enough and decides to pay Megan a little visit to warn her off Will once and for all. Without giving too much away, the old battleaxe loses it like we have never seen her lose it before… and does something to Megan that there might be no coming back from.
How will Megan react to Maggie’s fury?
