General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones) recently revealed a brain scan update and a new fashion project that she’s starting with Emme Rylan (ex-Lulu Spencer).

Maxie is off-screen in a coma for now since Storms is on a hiatus from the show, so many viewers are anxiously awaiting her return. Although Storms previously announced her move from

California to Tennessee with her daughter as the reason for her time off, it turns out there’s a bit more to the story. On Instagram, Storms explained that in January 2025, she had a new scan

since she was having some symptoms that her doctors suspected could be related to her brain.

Fans may recall that Storms had brain surgery back in 2021 after a large cyst split into two, so it’s easy to see why her medical team wanted to investigate her most recent issues.

Storms’ neurosurgeon had already been monitoring the cyst that he left on her brain when he removed the one that was creating issues for her. Once this January 2025 scan happened, an aneurysm was found on the right side of Storms’ brain.

Storms added that the “scan showed a new, but *very small*, squatter (aka cyst)” on her brain stem, so she knew she needed to change some things in her life as soon as possible.

“For my own personal reasons, no longer living in Los Angeles was very important to me. The biggest reason for the move was Harper, but a lot of it was for my physical and mental health. And my overall happiness,” Storms said.

Storms also shared that a few days following her hospital release at that time, someone wrote a blog post claiming that she “tried to ‘unalive’” herself. It wasn’t true, so Storms couldn’t understand why someone would make up a story like that.

Thankfully, something good came out of all this since Storms has used her love of crocheting to combat her anxiety and as her own form of cognitive behavioral therapy.

Kirsten Storms and Emme Rylan ultimately went into business together on a cardigan collection.

Rylan and Storms’ sweater collaboration is called KickinIt and features a variety of styles, so plenty of GH fans will want to check it out.
