DON’T MISS IT!!! Emmerdale legend in tears as husband suffers heart attack

Robert Sugden’s (Ryan Hawley) feelings towards Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) are complicated, but a situation in the latest episode of Emmerdale highlighted that

he probably still has genuine romantic feelings for him.nRobert started seeing Kev while they were both in prison. Prior to this, Robert was getting attacked by some inmates,

and Kev was ultimately the person to stop this from continuing. They then began a relationship and got married. At the time, Robert had no idea that he’d appeal against his case

and get released, so he started to create a new life behind bars to simply survive.

We know now that Kev has a very short temper. This week, following his release, he was in the pub ordering a couple of pints for the first time in over 20 years. As he turned around, Kev bumped into Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) and spilt the glasses.

In that second, Kev lost it, but then chose to take a deep breath and calm down.

The moments where Kev controls his anger prove that he is trying to change for Robert but in the minutes before, Kev’s fury suggests that he’s capable of doing some real damage to someone.

Up until today’s episode, Robert convinced Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) that Kev was a mate and that he had nothing to worry about regarding him.

It meant Aaron could happily prepare Robert some breakfast, and discuss them taking Kev for a few beers to try and help him readjust to life the other side of the prison gates.

Aaron was led to believe that Kev was Robert’s mate

Aaron learnt of Robert’s betrayal when he saw them kissing outside the pub. Given everything he’s just been through with Robert’s brother, Aaron did not hesitate in telling this Sugden that they were done.

Back at the Anderson household, Kev was in a panic over Robert doing a runner just after kissing him in public. Kev has been feeling hesitant about being openly gay, so this move was a lot for him.

Robert tried to calm Kev down, but faced disaster when he realised his husband had collapsed.

Kev was rushed to hospital as a result of suffering a heart attack. The situation left Robert in a terrible panic.

Back in the village, Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) and Aaron had got word an ambulance was outside the Anderson home and assumed Kev had done something to Robert.

When they learnt the truth at the hospital Vic was relieved, while Aaron was surprised to see Robert had been crying over Kev, despite him previously saying their relationship didn’t mean a great deal to him.

The chat Robert and Aaron had in the hospital corridor suggested that Robert still isn’t really sure how he feels about Kev. He said there was a time where he did love him, but his reaction to him being hospitalised suggests those feelings might still be there.

Robert reassured Aaron that even though he feels like this, he knows he still wants to spend the rest of his life with him.

Aaron then stood his ground and told Robert to end things with Kev right now – but he couldn’t.

And that was enough for Aaron.

In upcoming episodes, as Aaron tries to process Robert’s betrayal, he will learn that he told Kev about Gordon, his abusive father.

It’s a lot for Aaron to take in, and so soon after his ordeal with John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth).
