Netflix has officially started production on Virgin River Season 8, though the next installment won’t include every familiar face.

According to new reports, filming is now underway in Vancouver and will continue through summer 2026. The upcoming season is expected to feature 10 episodes and a major four-month time jump.

One of the most significant developments is the reported departure of Lauren Hammersley’s Charmaine, whose story reached a natural endpoint last season. Other exits are also expected as the series reshapes its supporting cast moving forward.

At the same time, fans can look forward to the return of several key players, including Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Ben Hollingsworth, and Zibby Allen.

Season 8 will reportedly explore the aftermath of Brady’s motorcycle crash, Denny’s medical school ambitions, and Brie’s mission to help Clay locate his missing sister.

Behind the scenes, Martin Henderson will direct another episode after previously stepping into the role during Season 6.

Although Netflix has not announced an official release date, Virgin River Season 8 is widely expected to premiere in 2027.
