Breaking news: Tragic News Surrounds Virgin River 8 As Actor Suddenly Dies
Mel and Jack are finally getting the getaway fans have waited years to see.
Netflix has released exclusive behind-the-scenes photos from Virgin River Season 8, confirming the beloved couple will travel to Tulum, Mexico, for a romantic honeymoon episode titled “La Luna De Miel.”
The special episode marks one of the biggest location changes in the series’ history, moving production away from British Columbia’s iconic forests and into the tropical landscapes of Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.
Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith revealed that a smaller production team traveled to Tulum immediately after filming wrapped in Vancouver.

“It was just so exciting to see these two characters in a different form of nature,” Smith explained.
The photos showcase Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson filming intimate beach scenes surrounded by crystal-clear water and luxury resort scenery.
Breckenridge said she especially enjoyed the chance for Mel and Jack to exist outside the constant chaos that defines life in Virgin River.

Despite ongoing responsibilities involving their new home, the farm, Jack’s bar, and possible adoption plans, the honeymoon gives the couple a temporary escape from everyday pressure.
The Mexico shoot also created memorable moments for the crew itself, who embraced the sunnier setting after months of filming in rainy Vancouver conditions.
Fans can expect the tropical storyline to become one of Season 8’s biggest highlights.
