After leaving the soap she’s now teaching acting

Five months after leaving Emmerdale, she’s now teaching acting at MetFilm School Leeds.

Discussing her new role, Rachael said: “The big thing is belief in themselves.

“Some drama schools can knock actors down.

“MetFilm encourages them. It lifts people up and helps them discover their own voices. That is why I love it.”

Rachael added: “You walk in and it feels alive. Students are carrying booms and cameras down the corridors.

“You can tell things are being created in every room. It is electric, challenging, open, creative and exciting.”

Following a brief appearance as Gail in Emmerdale in 2019, Rachael returned full-time in 2023.

Gail landed a job in the iconic Woolpack pub and one huge storyline saw the character’s secret child return to her.

Writing on social media at the time of her exit, Rachael said: “Well…what a mad two years this has been.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has shown love and support for the character over these past two years.

“The fans of Emmerdale are just fab and it’s been wonderful meeting some of you along the way.

“I did the absolute best with what I was given and it’s been lovely bringing a bit of humour to your screens now and again.”
