Coronation Street fans think they’ve picked up on some not-so-subtle foreshadowing for an upcoming storyline, and they are not happy about it.

Recent scenes from the ITV soap saw Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) and Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne) take on babysitting duties for Carla Connor (Alison King).

When Carla and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) got their work shifts muddled, leaving no one to look after Connie, Betsy offered to stay and babysit instead of going out with Dylan.

Dylan was on board with the plan and, though Lisa was unsure, Carla and Betsy managed to convince her that it was for the best.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go entirely to plan, as Carla arrived home to find Dylan taking off his jumper, and instantly jumped to the wrong conclusion.

As Carla stressed about how Betsy was supposed to be looking after baby Connie, Betsy argued that she’d been asleep until Carla had started shouting.

The only thing they were able to agree on was that Betsy would never be in charge of babysitting again.

Of course, this level of certainty instantly got fans backs up, as they wondered if this was perhaps foreshadowing a pregnancy storyline for Betsy and Dylan.

Taking to Twitter/X, Corrie viewers expressed their fears that this would be the direction the show took for the characters, admitting that they hoped they were wrong.

While some pointed out that Corrie seem to love a foreshadowing scene, others told the ITV soap to ‘keep the baby foreshadowing’.

So, could a pregnancy storyline be on the cards for Betsy and Dylan?

Even without more baby drama, Betsy is set to have a lot on her plate in the coming weeks, when she stumbles across the dead body of one of her neighbours in upcoming scenes.

During a special flash-forward episode earlier this month, viewers saw Betsy telling the police exactly what she’d found, before it was revealed which five characters could be the victim.

Of course, the perfect setting for this sort of soapy drama is a wedding, and it will be Carla and Lisa tying the knot.
