Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates reveal Dr. Mark Greene (Jonah Robinson) is now back in Salem, having been released from Statesville Prison, but he needs a job.

Cat And Rafe Hernandez Are Eager To Dig Up Dirt On EJ

Cat and Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) are keen to uncover the information that Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy) and the ISA are after, but up until now, they haven’t really found anything substantial.

Freshly released from prison for his attempt on Chad DiMera’s (Billy Flynn) life, Mark is in dire need of employment. He approached the brother of the man he tried to kill, asking EJ for a position in research or at a lab since Mark has lost his medical license.

It appears that EJ is indeed going to offer Mark a job at his clandestine lab, which is concealed behind the soon-to-be-launched Dr. Tom Horton (MacDonald Carey) Free Clinic at University Hospital.

So that means that Mark would be in a perfect position to spy on the secret projects that will no doubt go on behind the scenes in that secret lab.

Mark Hasn’t A Clue That Cat Is An Undercover ISA Operative

What Mark doesn’t realize is that his sister Cat has been working for the ISA, and they are specifically focusing on EJ.

Cat and Rafe are looking into EJ on Shane’s orders to discover who financed  the purchase of the medical facility and why EJ wanted to buy the hospital in the first place.

Cat will be pleased that Mark has found a job, and  learning that he will be working in the dubious clinic could be beneficial for Cat. We know that she, Rafe, and Shane all believe that EJ is up to something shady and that this clinic is central to it.

But they lack evidence, and Mark, could serve as their insider; he could provide them with the inside information on EJ’s secret project, who is funding it, and what is really happening.

Mark Is Desperate To Prove His Redemption

Even though Jennifer Horton (Melissa Reeves) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) wrote to the parole board to stop Mark’s release, it didn’t succeed.

Now, Mark, a former doctor, is free and back in Salem. He has reunited with his sisters Cat and Felicity Greene (Kennedy Garcia) and his brother Aaron Greene (Louis Tomeo), who might be a father now-Mark claims he wouldn’t have killed Chad.

He regrets getting involved in Clyde Weston’s (James Read) wicked schemes, feeling  he had no choice but to cooperate, or Clyde would have harmed his mother, Catharina Meleounis (Susan Elena Matus).

Although Mark is paroled and free, he can’t practice medicine until he regains his license; however, Cat encouraged him to submit a resume and discuss a job at the hospital with EJ.

Is Mark Making A Deal With The Devil?

Mark entered to speak with him, but EJ was initially resistant; why hire Mark, who was pursuing Chad on Clyde’s orders, especially since EJ dislikes Clyde and cares for Chad?

However, when EJ learned that Mark enjoys lab work and research, he became interested, and It became about his own agenda. EJ told Mark he could have the job if he followed directions without questions and signed an NDA-Mark hesitated, but EJ assured him it was privately funded research.

So, the parolee doctor accepted the job; what will Cat’s reaction be when her brother Mark tells her he got a job at the new lab? Cat knows the secure room with the fancy keypad isn’t just a medicine closet like EJ says because she went down there and took photos.

Leo’s Discovery-Another Threat To EJ’s Plans?

A hidden area in the hospital has caught Leo Stark’s (Greg Rikaart) attention;  he recently saved his old friend, Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), when she was stuck there during the blackout.

Leo was looking into a tip about the blackout and its cause, and found Gwen panicking because she was locked in a dark room. The electronic lock failed, so, Leo broke through the drywall to save her, Leo is eager to find out what’s happening there.

Unfortunately, Rita Lesley (Maggie Carney), EJ’s henchwoman, caught Leo snooping around; EJ told Rita they need to handle Leo quickly. This could mean many things for EJ-Leo might end up kidnapped and used in one of EJ’s secret experiments in his hidden lab.

The Return Of Dr. Rolf?

Mark might end up working directly with Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) in this shady new lab-Rolf is a genius, and it’s always entertaining to see him in action.

Fans enjoy the DiMera mad scientist, and speaking of Rolf, it would be hilarious if he and Rita hit it off. Both are loyal to EJ and the DiMeras, and they share a wicked streak; plus, they lack a conscience and could agree on many things.

 Plus, we still need to uncover what’s happening with Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) and this potential new Stefano DiMera (originally Joseph Mascolo) and how it ties into EJ’s plans in that lab.

Is he messing with dear old dad’s brain or consciousness, or something bizarre like Rolf has done before?

The Horton Free Clinic’s Grand Opening Is Set For November

The Horton Free Clinic is set to open in November, celebrating the 60th anniversary of Days of Our Lives with a lineup of guest stars-that’s just around the corner.

Meanwhile, Cat and Rafe are still trying to uncover EJ’s plans; they’ve discovered that Gwen was snooping around the construction site. So, Cat and Rafe are keeping an eye on her, but they can’t get too close- Mark, however, is a different story since he just landed a job there.

We’ll find out if EJ has brought Mark on board temporarily, only involving him in the shady dealings once he’s deemed trustworthy, or if he’ll dive right into the plot.
