Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) is a woman on a mission in Coronation Street, and that mission is to totally destroy Shona Platt (Julia Goulding). Shona left the family home

when she became a teen mum, leaving youngster Jodie alone with their troubled parents. As a result of this, Jodie feels a deep level of hatred towards Shona, who has turned her life around completely.

Her aim to get Shona to feel sorry for her is already working, as Jodie has told her sister a lie about an abusive relationship she was in. We know this was a fake story as earlier

on in the episode where she opened up to her sister, Jodie listened to a woman called Ellie speak about the exact same ordeal.

It’s all part of her plan

Amid her plan, Jodie is also working hard to try and turn David Platt’s (Jack P Shepherd) eyes away from Shona and onto her.

Recently, Jodie asked David to watch a film together as she didn’t want to spend the evening alone. In upcoming episodes, she continues with this side of her plot, but decides to bring in another Weatherfield resident to assist.

Prior to this, Jodie’s left irritated when Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) snaps at her for serving Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) the wrong toastie.

As Jodie clocks Bernie’s irritation towards newcomer Mal, she ponders over how to get her own back.

Later in the week, David returns home and is stunned to find Jodie and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) in a state of undress. Carl is thrown out of the house by David, while Jodie is secretly pleased that she’s got David’s attention.

Will her plan to tempt David even work?

‘Total resentment’, star Olivia Frances-Brown said when asked how Jodie feels about Shona.

‘Jodie feels Shona abandoned her and broke a promise to take her with her to a better life. Seeing Shona with the house, the husband, and the family – everything Jodie ever dreamt of – is hard for her. She blames Shona for the fact that she doesn’t have those things too’.

Jodie is a really interesting character’, producer of the show Kate Brooks added.

‘She’s a bit of a troublemaker, she’s got a bit of mischief in her eyes. All is not what it seems with Jodie and there’s a lot of layers to her. I think the audience are going to have a lot of fun unravelling who this person is, who Jodie is as a character and what she wants as well.

‘Keep an eye on her because there’s lots of secrets to explode and she’s going to bring an awful lot of drama to the Platt household.’
