Anger Erupts!! Sharon Marshall ‘lets slip’ major Coronation Street and Emmerdale spoilers ahead of special crossover episode

The TV star has been reporting on the soaps for decades on the ITV daytime show but she appeared to give away too much during her stint on the programme today.

Fans will know the ITV soaps – Coronation Street and Emmerdale – will both be coming together for a very special episode, Corriedale, in the New Year.

As the soaps build up to their shock merger, Sharon gave away who Corrie’s next big villain would be.

Letting slip there was more to come with Becky Swain, Sharon told how she will be Weatherfield’s ‘next big villain’.

She said: “She is gonna be the next big Corrie villain.

“It is all quite deliberate.

“There is something that is just off about her. She wants to oust Carla and she wants to get her family back but how far will she go to do it.”

Becky has already caused a stir on the show but Sharon confirmed she would be seen to be in cahoots with fellow police officer, Costello, in the run-up to the epic crossover, adding: “Keep an eye on Costello because those two are in cahoots.”

Meanwhile, Sharon further dropped another HUGE hint that John Sugden will get his comeuppance during the Corriedale special.

Speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Sharon teased that his storyline would come to a head as part of the epic crossover.

Fans had already begun to speculate that John might meet his end in the special after wanted posters for the criminal were spotted in Weatherfield’s police station.

As Asha Alahan reported a crime to cops, behind her was a poster showing Emmerdale killer John Sugden with an appeal for information.

The poster is first in a string of tidbits that will be left in both soaps for fans to spot ahead of the big feature-length episode.

Soap bosses have gone to extreme lengths to keep the crossover secrets well-hidden.

The Sun exclusively revealed last month that nothing has been seen as too extreme to keep the plot of the highly-anticipated episodes a secret.

A source said: “The soaps have assembled a top team working secretly on the crossover away from the usual productions.

“Every precaution has been taken for the event that’s set to begin filming later this month.”

The Sun understands that filming took place earlier this month with stars including Jack P. Shepherd, Claire Sweeney, Danny Miller and John MacPherson all involved.
