Virgin River is bringing new energy to town for Season 8.

Mitchell Slaggert has officially joined the Netflix drama in a major recurring role as Eddie, a charismatic EMT whose arrival could impact several fan-favorite characters.

Production on the new season recently began in Vancouver, continuing the show’s fast turnaround schedule following the success of Season 7.

Eddie is described as a curious and adventurous newcomer who unexpectedly finds himself drawn to the close-knit community of Virgin River. His profession naturally connects him to Mel and Doc, while the show is also teasing future interactions with Kaia and Brady.

Known for his performances in Landman and The Sex Lives of College Girls, Slaggert brings both romantic-drama and comedic experience to the role.

Netflix has not yet announced an official release date for Season 8.
