Todd Chrisley’s Son Kyle Chrisley Arrested for Assault, Public Intoxication

Kyle Chrisley has encountered trouble with the law.

The son of Todd Chrisley and his ex-wife Teresa Terry was arrested Dec. 20 in Tennessee and faces multiple charges including domestic assault, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, assaulting a first responder and resisting arrest, according to county court records reviewed by USA Today.

Following his arrest, the 34-year-old—who appeared on season one of Chrisley Knows Best before becoming estranged from his dad—was booked into the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center, per the outlet.

E! News has reached out to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office as well as a Chrisley family rep for comment but has not heard back.

Kyle has faced run-ins with the law before. In March 2023, he was arrested for aggravated assault in Smyrna, Tenn., after he was “involved in a physical altercation” with a supervisor of his workplace and allegedly brandished a “fixed blade” during the incident, according to a Smyrna police press release obtained by E! News at the time. (The case was later closed in April 2024, a rep for the Smyrna Court Clerk’s Office told Radar Online.)

Despite Kyle’s estrangement from his family, he shared that he was “ecstatic” about Todd, 56, and wife Julie Chrisley, 52, being pardoned in their tax fraud case earlier this year, crediting his sister Savannah Chrisley for her advocacy on the couple’s behalf.

“I know Savannah had been working at this for so long and she never gave up,” he told E! News in May. “I know they can’t wait to get home and be with family, and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.”

However, Savannah, 28, previously defended her dad’s decision to establish distance between himself and his son.

“My dad has every reason not to speak to Kyle,” she said on her Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast in July 2024. “Just because it’s your child doesn’t mean that you have to accept abuse. It doesn’t mean you have to accept manipulation and hate and all these things.”
