Breaking news: Coronation Street legend taken by police for questioning in early ITVX release as Theo evidence mounts

The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Coronation Street dated May 5. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.

DS Lisa Connor-Swain (Vicky Myers) arrived to see Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) in today’s Coronation Street with news about dead Theo Silverton (James Cartwright).

We’ve known about the discovery of a body in Weatherfield for quite a while, but just who lost their life wasn’t revealed until last Friday.

Lisa and her colleague explained to Todd in the latest instalment that they’re now treating Theo’s death as murder. Suspiciously listening in on this was Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), who left the house moments later.

She raced over to the funeral parlour, where George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley) found her and wondered why she was frantically cleaning his desk over and over again.

Christina was trying to distract herself from the fact that she had just found George’s bloodied shirt. He calmly explained that it was Theo’s blood, after the fight that occurred in the flat.

In a panic, Christina explained to George that Lisa suspects Theo has been murdered, and wondered if he went anywhere else on the night he was killed. The conversation that they had took place just as Lisa walked in – of course.

The detective immediately wondered what Christina and George were discussing, and why they were holding a shirt with blood on.

Lisa took George down the station for questioning. He was joined by Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson), and carefully explained his movements from a few nights ago.

George landed in hot water though when he told Lisa that he was at home for a large portion of the evening, but then revealed that he went out for a walk.

After discovering the news from Adam, Christina couldn’t help ponder over the events of the day. She said to Todd that George never told her about the walk he went on the night Theo died, and is beginning to wonder if he’s hiding anything else from her.

Todd thought that Christina was jumping to conclusions, but knew she was making a good point when she said that if the police believed George was totally innocent, he would be back at home.
