on the cobbles as Will Driscoll’s (Lucas Hodgson-Wale) athletics coach, though it transpired that she had been grooming him. On Will’s 16th birthday, they slept together,
with Will’s entire family completely in the dark about it. It wasn’t until Sam Blakeman (Jude Riordan) discovered Megan’s abuse and eventually confided in Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson)
and Eva Price (Catherine Tyldesley) that Megan’s house of cards finally came crumbling down.
Fans think Megan Walsh is hiding something
Though Megan is now public enemy number one among her neighbours, Will is still completely under her spell, and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn) has been determined to scare Megan off no matter what it takes.
In last night’s instalment of the ITV soap, Maggie tracked Will to Megan’s flat and paid her a visit to warn her off, insisting that Megan had no idea what she was capable of.
Viewers will know that Maggie has killed in the past, so she shouldn’t be underestimated. Unaware of her history, Megan refused to be intimidated.
However, when Maggie pointed out that if Megan went to prison, the Driscolls would be the ones raising her baby, Megan snapped and lashed out at Maggie, who pushed her in retaliation.
Following their altercation, Megan secretly met with Will again, and tearfully informed him of Maggie’s ‘attack’, before revealing that she had lost the baby as a result.
Fans trust Megan about as far as they can throw her, so it is no surprise that they aren’t convinced she’s telling the truth. Add to that the fact that Fleetwood Mac’s Little Lies was playing in the background when Will received Megan’s texts, and we’re also suspicious.
The Driscolls had intended to use the baby’s DNA to prove that Megan had abused Will, and blaming the loss on Maggie would only further drive Will away from his family and into Megan’s clutches, so this is certainly a theory that would make sense.
Other fans suspect Megan is still pregnant, with Sue presenting an interesting theory.
‘She is still pregnant I reckon, she will try to move away next I bet and hope it all goes away. Will will eventually tell all no doubt.. it may come out by him confronting his Nan for what he thinks she has done.’
After Maggie’s threats that she would bring up the baby to hate Megan, it would make sense that if she is still pregnant, Megan would want to keep that under wraps in a bid to stop Maggie.
There’s also the possibility that the baby isn’t Will’s, with fans recalling the other student who came forward about being groomed by Megan.
‘Megan was definitely pregnant as she’d had a scan and got a picture to show to Will, but I believe it’s the other school lad’s, the one who told Will he’d slept with Megan,’ Deb commented.
‘I still think she’s pregnant but because of what Maggie said about bringing up the child when she goes to prison Megan didn’t like that and I don’t think it’s Will’s, I think it’s the other young school boy that was in the other week,’ Lesley speculated.
Could any of these theories be on the right track? Or was Megan really telling the truth?
One thing is for sure, Will and Maggie’s relationship will certainly be tested going forward…
Mary shared her theory on Facebook, suggesting that ‘piece of work’ Megan had lied to reel Will in, while Christina agreed, writing: ‘I don’t think she was ever pregnant either.’
