THE CARLA AND LISA WEDDING B0MBSHELL: SH0CKING CHANGE OF HEART AS A LIFE-ALTERING DECISION ROCKS THE CORRIE COBBLES
Carla Connor (Alison King) is getting married in Coronation Street, and the last thing the ceremony is going to be is low-key. The beloved character is in a relationship
with DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers). Last year, their journey together was ticking along nicely, but then Lisa’s ex Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) decided to return from the dead.
Becky decided to try and get back with Lisa, which meant doing whatever she could to get Carla out of the way. It worked for a little while, but the penny eventually dropped
for Lisa and she saw Becky for the manipulative, meddling woman she really is.
Lisa Swain initially wasn’t keen on Carla Connor’s idea
At the start of the year, Lisa arrested Becky during the Corriedale crossover episode. In the aftermath, she worked hard to win Carla back, and it was a success.
The couple aren’t exactly living in bliss though, as they’re busy looking after Connie, the daughter of Carla’s criminal brother Rob.
Amid the chaos of looking after a baby, Carla and Lisa are working full-time jobs and have a wedding to plan. Seriously, it’s a lot.
In tonight’s episode, Lisa was tasked with sorting another part of the wedding prep. She was a bit hesitant to jump into it, believing they didn’t actually need a big do.
Er, wrong.
Carla was very passionate in her response, telling Lisa that they absolutely do need to invite the entirety of Weatherfield to their lavish wedding.
Lisa headed to work and ended up dealing with Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin), who was wrongly arrested for Mal Roper’s (Tim Treloar) attack. Perhaps it was dealing with the seriousness of her job that made Lisa realise that she did want to indulge in some camp and over the top wedding chaos after all.
She returned to the factory after her shift and told Carla that she had changed her mind.
Lisa said they are a couple of queens, and absolutely deserve a wedding Coronation Street will remember forever.
Rightly so.
