Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) feels like he’s made great strides in his quest for immortality, but he may be in for a rude awakening.

Despite the success of EJ’s experiment so far, things may take a terrible turn down the road. Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) decided not to shut the experiment down since

she can’t stop Abe Carver (James Reynolds) and Theo Carver’s (Tyler Joseph Andrews) chance to get Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford) back. That said, Paulina has plenty of

concerns about EJ playing God and thinking he can run the show. Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) has made quite a breakthrough thanks to Versavix and his strange talents, but what happens after Lexie opens her eyes?

This feels like the kind of Days storyline where EJ and the rest of Lexie’s loved ones should be careful what they wish for!

Lexie’s wakeup call will bring some heartfelt reunions, but let’s consider at least three ways EJ’s plan could go horribly wrong.

1) Awful side effects?

For starters, DOOL fans know EJ is entering new medical territory here.

There’s no way to know for sure how Versavix and whatever else Lexie’s being given will affect her over time.

Dr. Rolf’s resurrection concoction could lead to some awful side effects for Lexie sooner or later.

Those could be the first sign of trouble when it’s time for this Days storyline to turn from a joyful one to a cautionary tale.

2) Wild personality changes?

Lexie could also experience some wild personality changes, so that’s another potential problem to keep in mind.

Although Lexie will awaken, will she really be the same Lexie that Abe, Theo and others around Salem loved so dearly?

Since the role of Lexie has been recast with Nikki Crawford, it’ll be easy for Days to lean into any personality shifts and whatever disaster might follow.

Lexie might even turn sinister if Dr. Rolf has made it so her worst DiMera impulses are stronger.

3) Miracle ultimately brings tragic results?

Nikki Crawford will only be around for a few months, so that’s another indicator that Lexie’s storyline might have a tragic outcome.

What if all the experiment proves in the end is that you can’t truly cheat death forever?

Lexie might face a grim fate all over again and leave Abe devastated along with Theo.

EJ may give them Lexie back, but he won’t be able to control things if her condition deteriorates and she eventually passes away once more.
