Very Shocking Update: General Hospital Spoilers: Jason Protects Rocco by Pleading Guilty to Cullum’s Shooting
General Hospital spoilers hint there’s a good chance that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) pleads guilty to Ross Cullum’s (Andrew Hawkes) shooting in an effort to protect Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).
GH’s Monday, March 23 episode was explosive on all accounts: with twists and turns at every corner, ending in a blaze of glory with Rocco shockingly shooting Cullum in the back – essentially saving Jason’s life.
As fans know from the Friday, March 20 show, Rocco had followed Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to the pier, and during Monday’s episode, he overheard Britt and Lucas Jones’s (Van Hansis) entire conversation.
It was sort of a ‘goodbye’ between the two once-rivals-now-friends.
With that said, Rocco got an earful as he learned how Cullum and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) had coerced Britt to participate in their cold fusion project by using her Huntington’s disease meds as a bargaining chip.
He also found out that Britt was escaping this nightmare, thanks to Lucas, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo), and, of course, Jason.
As Lucas left, Cullum entered the pier, thanks to reading Marco’s text message after he un-alived the man via a stabbing.
Cullum was a dastardly villain on all accounts as he threatened Britt and proceeded to smash her medicine vials after he threatened her to give them back to him.
He was about to shoot her, too, after he pushed her and knocked her out, until Jason swooped in for the save.
At one point, Cullum’s gun had been knocked out of his hand.
Jason was on the ground at the pier when Cullum pulled out an iron rod, but before he could hit the henchman, Rocco had grabbed the gun from the ground, which landed in his vicinity, and he shot the WSB head in the back.
Jason was completely caught off guard when he saw who was behind the gun, and so were General Hospital viewers.
With that said, it’s not hard to see where this storyline is heading.
Cullum called Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) earlier in the afternoon with an order to bring Jason to the PCPD.
Dante found Jason at the Port Charles high school parking lot, as he was going to see Danny Morgan’s (Asher Antonyzyn) basketball game.
While Jason refused to go to the station, Dante insisted and even asked for Jason’s gun.
In the end, Jason knocked out Dante and fled the scene, so a warrant was issued for his arrest.
While fans know that Cullum is a double-agent villain, at the end of the day, the WSB doesn’t know, and he’s still a head of the major global spy organization.
Rocco shooting him, especially to save Jason, a criminal and henchman, looks terrible.
To boot, Rocco hasn’t even finished his community service for the last crime he committed: breaking into Professor Henry “Hank” Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) lab!
Jason knows that Rocco would be immediately sent to Steinmauer for committing a crime like this.
While Rocco may not be his son, he happens to be close to Danny – like a brother – and Jason’s way of thanking Rocco would be to take the fall for Cullum’s shooting.
Not to mention a form of appreciation for saving his life, and Britt’s, too, for that matter.
This week is the last week Jason will be in storylines, as Steve Burton is heading on a small break, so will Jason head to Steinmauer or some other WSB prison to await trial?
General Hospital spoilers note that the time away could give Jason’s friends an opportunity to clear his name, gather evidence about Cullum being a double-agent, and prove he was acting in self defense when he shot him (even though it was Rocco who pulled that trigger).
